Owner & Optometrist | Torrington Eyecare
Experienced eye care. Personal attention.
Dr. Erick Sirignano believes good eye care starts with listening. His approach combines thorough clinical care, modern diagnostic technology, and straightforward conversations so patients understand what is happening with their eyes and feel comfortable with the decisions being made about their care.
Dr. Sirignano earned his undergraduate degree in Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Connecticut before completing his Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry.
As the owner of Torrington Eyecare, he provides comprehensive vision and medical eye care for patients of all ages. His clinical work includes routine eye examinations, contact lenses, dry eye disease, cataract evaluation, glaucoma diagnosis and management, retinal and macular disease, and the evaluation of more complex ocular and neurologic conditions.
He places particular emphasis on early detection, careful monitoring, and appropriate treatment. Advanced imaging and diagnostic testing are used when they add meaningful information, but technology never replaces the clinical examination or the conversation with the patient. Dr. Sirignano believes patients deserve to know not only what he recommends, but why he recommends it.
A different kind of eye-care visit
Patients should never leave an eye examination confused about what was found or what happens next.
Dr. Sirignano takes the time to review findings, show patients their imaging when helpful, discuss available options, and explain conditions in understandable language. Treatment decisions are individualized rather than based on a one-size-fits-all approach.
When treatment is necessary, the goal is to make thoughtful decisions based on each patient’s individual needs. And when treatment isn’t necessary, patients should hear that too.
Caring for patients for the long term
For Dr. Sirignano, independent practice means being personally responsible for the care and experience patients receive year after year. Torrington Eyecare is built around long-term relationships with the individuals and families who trust the practice with their vision.
That continuity allows him to understand not only a patient’s prescription, but also the history of their eyes, their medical concerns, their visual needs, and what matters to them personally.
Outside of the exam room, Dr. Sirignano is a father and understands how important it is to find healthcare providers who are knowledgeable, dependable, approachable, and willing to listen. He wants patients to feel comfortable asking questions, expressing concerns, or simply saying, “Can you explain that again?”
That relationship is an important part of the care Torrington Eyecare strives to provide.
Beyond the Office
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Sirignano enjoys traveling and experiencing new places and cultures, particularly through international travel. Closer to home, he is an avid fisherman and golfer and takes advantage of Connecticut’s warmer months to spend as much time outdoors as possible.
When winter arrives and Connecticut weather makes those activities a little less inviting, he turns to a different hobby: restoring vintage pinball machines. What started as an interest in classic machines has become a favorite winter project—part nostalgia, part problem-solving, and part satisfaction in bringing something old back to life.
Above all, his favorite time outside the office is spent with family.
